One year older

Hey, it was my birthday yesterday!  Yay!  So I turned 27...and also I realized that I'm now in my late 20s.  Um, that sounds old.  You know, early 20s is ages 20, 21, 22, maybe 23, and mid 20s is 23, 24, 25, 26.  But once you reach 27, you are no longer qualified for that title - you're in your late 20s now.  Maybe it wouldn't sound so old if Morgan was 27, too, but he's only 26 and thus still in his mid 20s.  I'm robbin' the cradle, people!

My birthday was great, except for the waking up early part.  On a Saturday, my one day to sleep in.  Sigh, thanks a lot, body.  Then Morgan wrapped my presents (once we could figure out a place in our tiny apartment where he could wrap them without me seeing), and then I immediately unwrapped them.  Wrapping paper is kinda a waste of money, right?  Especially for immediate family presents...I suppose for bridal showers and such it's more necessary.  But it does add festivity to things :)

Anyway, Morgan got me some things I had suggested: popsicle molds and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Office trivia game.  Good stuff, especially the Office game - we've played it twice now, and reminiscing about awesome scenes and episodes is more fun than it might sound.  Then came the free IHOP breakfast-for-lunch - thank you IHOP!  And at night we went to the final Harry Potter movie - which was pretty good, and may convince Morgan to actually read the books!  I know, I don't know how he lives a fulfilling life without them.  But that may change soon.  We will see...

And, Morgan made me a cake!  Per my request, it was chocolate with chocolate frosting...and the frosting can came with sprinkles, so why not?  Thus, a cake covered with sprinkles.  And tall candles, in number 27, since I'm in my late 20s and all.

The spread-out arrangement of the candles made it hard to blow them out...and I'm can't say I succeeded on that count :(  But I'm sure this upcoming year will still be great, thanks to my wonderful husband :)
