Halloween 2013

For Halloween itself we didn't do too much - Morgan got stuck late at work, so we had sugar cookies and watched Monsters University (I don't do scary movies...so a movie with "monster" in the title was a good Halloween movie for me :) ). Oh, and we also ate mummy dogs with spiderweb condiments.

A couple days before Halloween, though, our ward had a trunk'r'treat. So we had to dress up!

Xander was the cutest puppy ever...despite not wanting to wear his costume. Luckily the other kids were sufficient distractions for him. And Xander's doggyness meant that Morgan and I had to be dog catchers! At the bottom of my shirt is a small puppy made from felt in a cage...you know, because one of our puppies is currently caught :) It was a fun family costume. Xander tried playing one game...but didn't really understand it.

Xander didn't care at all about the truck'r'treat portion - running around in the parking lot, among the kids, with a dog-catcher parent chasing him was his idea of fun!

And since I know you want more :), here are some pictures of Xander trying on his costume a week or two before (and excuse the spots - this was pre-washing):

Cute tail (which wiggled when he walked, hahaha!) shot:

And even being in a restricting costume couldn't stop Xander from finding and lining up Daddy's shoes (one of his favorite pastimes):

In other news, today was the second half of Morgan's ultimate frisbee team's tournament. They were undefeated during the regular season and during last week's tournament play. This week was single-elimination, so they didn't make it all the way, but they had a good time. It was a bit chilly today, but here are some pictures from a prior game:

Sadly, I don't have any action shots of Morgan - someone else is always running around simultaneously and keeping me rather busy :)

And with fall and lots of leaves from Virginia trees and all that, we showed Xander how to throw leaves up in the air.

He also likes to kick the leaves when walking through a pile...or, you know, sit in it if we get to church early and there is a big pile of them... Fun times!
