Since we are far from family (sadness!) and so are some other couples in our ward, we invited one of our couple friends, Chris and Lacie, over to join us. I made ham (tastes better and is WAY easier than turkey), rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pie. Well, pumpkin pie and a pie crust for this easy and tasty chocolate cool whip pie that Morgan made. Super easy: melt some chocolate chips, mix with cool whip, mix in some more (unmelted) chocolate chips, put in pie crust. Easy, and SO good...and would be just as good without the time-consuming pie crust, too. Just sayin'. Chris and Lacie brought stuffing, green bean casserole, apple cobbler stuff, and drinks. Behold the food:
This is the regular food, at least. No picture of the dessert, though - we didn't care about cameras by that time :) Also excuse the blue-ness of the picture of Morgan- not sure why that happened.
And here are our guests:
Chris and Lacie are super nice and like playing games too, so we're good friends in the ward. We used our nice dishes and serving bowl and gravy boat (thanks to Morgan's parents and grandparents!), and it's fun to have special-occasion dishes to use. We ordered new silverware (since we have been using my plastic-handled Walmart silverware), but it won't be here until tomorrow probably. Or else our table would have looked even nicer :)
And I got my hair to look halfway decent for a picture (but not my face...the blurriness is my fault, as I tried to take my own picture. You notice how that usually doesn't go so well?):
Still long enough to do stuff and look cute with my round face, but not too long-and-straight to look good with my pregnantness. Perfect!
In conclusion, yay for Thanksgiving food! And new haircuts! Except not together - having hair in the food would not be something to be so thankful about.
